Gerald W. âJerryâ Curtis, beloved husband of Frances Collazo-Curtis of Bridgeport, died July 16.
Mr Curtis died after enduring a yearlong battle with a brain tumor at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was 56 years old.
Son of the late Raymond and Betty Curtis of Cheshire, Mr Curtis was born on August 4, 1946, in New Haven.
He was a longtime resident of Newtown, and owner of Whole Earth Herbs/Spices and Curtis Restorations, businesses both located in Newtown.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Frances; his caring stepdaughter, Sharlene Turner, and stepson, Fredrick Turner; his daughters, Heather Curtis and Kim Curtis; two adoring grandsons, Jayson and Dazz; four brothers; one sister; several nieces and nephews; and many other special friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 11 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 pm on Sunday, July 27, at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hispanic Adult Achievers Program (HAAP), at Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield, CT 06432.
Mr Curtis was very connected to this program for many years, and he supported all of the groupsâ activities and education.
