Growing Nature’s Healing Connections

WOODBURY — For two Saturday mornings, Flanders Nature Center will host an “adventure through nature” to help participants create opportunities that will allow nature to teach and heal while learning to recognize and grow many of the body’s 53 senses.

On Saturdays, August 4 and 11, participants will join Marlow Shami from 10 to 11 am for an adventure with nature through outdoor activities, journaling, guided meditation and discussion. The group will meet at the Van Vleck Farm Sanctuary studio building on Flanders Road.

Ms Shami is a teacher, writer and doctoral candidate of ecopsychology. According to Ms Shami, the Harvard Biological Laboratory has confirmed the existence of 53 human senses.

Cost is $45 and registration is required. Participants should wear comfortable clothing for indoors and outdoors. Call 203-263-3711 for additional information.
