Maloney Abuses

His Privilege

To the Editor:

They say “Timing is Everything!” I just saw a Maloney campaign brochure that was mailed to a friend. Isn’t the timing peculiar? I mean, incumbent congressmen have an unlimited ranking privilege, I think, for government purposes such as keeping constituents informed. But the privilege isn’t supposed to be abused for campaign mailings.

So when the majority of an incumbent’s mailings come just before the 90-day pre-election ban on such mailings, doesn’t the timing telegraph the sender’s motives?

Maloney is at it again. Franking abuse is just not right.
