William G. Stordy
William G. Stordy, 69, of Oxford, died July 21, at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Berenda) Stordy. He was born in Derby on September 8, 1939, son of James A. and Anna (Rownak) Stordy.
Left to cherish his memory, are four children, including William M. Stordy and his wife, Michelle, of Sandy Hook; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved fireman brothers.
Mr Stordy was a master mechanic with CL&P in Waterbury prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army and an avid fireman, joining the Riverside Volunteer Fire Co of Oxford in 1967, and was an Honorary Life Member. Billâs passions in addition to the fire department included collecting belt buckles, antique cars, and NASCAR racing. He loved his family and enjoyed involving them in his passions. He was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday with a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 130 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Mt Meadows Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday, July 24, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Avenue, Seymour.
Memorial contributions in Mr Stordyâs name may be made to the Riverside Volunteer Fire Company through the funeral home.
