Connecticut Gas Prices Down

HAMDEN (AP) — The Connecticut AAA says gasoline prices in the state have gone down a bit after five straight months of increases.

The AAA said Tuesday the average price for a gallon of regular gas stands at $2.70, a penny lower than a month ago. A year ago the price was $4.37.

The price for diesel fuel has gone up four cents in the last month to $2.77.

Nationally, the average price of gas has gone down 10 cents to $2.52. A year ago the national average was $4.11.

AAA surveys more than 1,000 gas stations in Connecticut and nearly 100,000 stations nationwide to determine the average prices.
