David E. Foss
David E. Foss, 66, of Fairfield Avenue, Danbury, died at Laurel Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ridgefield, on July 22.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and David Cavagna of Newtown, and his nephews, Michael and Jeff Cavagna.
He was born in Skowhegan, Me., December 2, 1934, son of the late Edward and Ethel (Craig) Foss. He was a graduate of Hill House High School, New Haven, and served in the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He had worked for the Barden Corp of Danbury and then became a letter carrier for the Ridgefield Post Office until retirement. After retirement from the Post Office he worked as a security guard for Guardsmark Security until his illness.
Mr Foss was an avid motorcyclist and was a longtime member of the American Motorcycle Association and a former member of the Toppers Motorcycle Club of Danbury.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Tom Gundry, III, of York Haven, Penn., and his granddaughter Carolann Gundry. He was predeceased by his former wife, Carol (Barkley) Foss.
As a request of Mr Foss, there will be no funeral services.
Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
