Chamber Music At Hulburt Park
ROXBURY â Armstrong Chamber Concerts (ACC) will be presented by the Roxbury Recreation Commission for its second summer chamber concert at Hurlburt Parkâs Pavilion, on Apple Lane in Roxbury, on Saturday, August 11, at 6 pm. The concert is open to the public free of charge.
The program will feature ACC founder and artistic director Helen Armstrong. Ms Armstrong, on violin, will be joined by two special guests.
Helen Armstrong made her debut at Lincoln Center in 1976 and was praised by a New York critic as a âtotal virtuoso of the violin.â She has performed with the Boston Pops, Indianapolis Symphony and others, as well as toured North America, Europe and Asia as a recitalist.
Ms Armstrong and ACC will begin their 18th season in October with concert series in Washington and Greenwich, featuring unique repertoire performed by world-renowned artists.
The Roxbury concert will take place rain or shine. Bring chairs or a blanket, and a picnic basket. The concert is sponsored in part by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. The program will feature works by Handel, Mozart and Beethoven.
