Tire Falls Off
Police report an accident about 5:15 pm July 23 in which a tire fell off one truck and struck a second truck.
Police said motorist Thomas J. Kroener, 56, of Danbury was driving a 1983 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck northbound on South Main Street. A northbound 1996 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven by David J. Ladasky, 44, of Southbury was traveling behind Kroener, police said.
The right front tire fell off Kroenerâs truck and collided with Ladaskyâs truck, police said. There were no injuries or enforcement actions, police said.
Walnut Tree Hill
Police report motorist Eric Sallisky, 17, of Danbury, who was driving a 1986 Buick on Walnut Tree Hill Road July 22, failed to negotiate a curve and hit a 1992 Lexus driven by Thomas G. Wyatt, 57, of 7 Valley Field Road North. There were no injuries, police said.
Sallisky then left the scene of the accident and was located in Brookfield, police said.
Police charged Sallisky with failure to drive to the right, operating a motor vehicle without a license, evading responsibility, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Police released Sallisky for an August 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Jeremiah Road DWI
Police said they received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Jeremiah Road near Cobblerâs Mill Road about 1 am July 24. Police said they found Daniel Randall, 32, of Branford, Florida, sleeping in the driverâs seat of a pickup truck parked in the road with two flat tires. Police said Randall failed field sobriety tests and they then charged him with driving while intoxicated. Police held Randall on a $1,000 bond for an appearance later that day in Danbury Superior Court.
I-84 DWI
State police report they observed motorist John M. Lyons, 55, of Cheshire driving erratically on eastbound Interstate-84 west of Exit 10 about 9:45 am July 22.
State police said they stopped Lyons and found him to be intoxicated. State police charged him with driving while intoxicated and failure to drive in the proper lane.
Lyons was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Jaguar Into Rail
State police report motorist Frances S. Pierce, 64, of Port Washington, NY, was driving a 1997 Jaguar coupe westbound on Interstate-84 west of Exit 10 about 3:15 pm July 23 when she veered to the right road shoulder and struck about 200 feet of guard rail. There were no injuries. State police warned Pierce for failure to drive in the established lane.
Interstate Crash
State police report motorist Elena Pagan, 24, of Harrisburg, Penn, who was driving a 1994 Mercury Sable westbound on Interstate-84 east of Exit 10 about 6 am July 23, was in the center lane of three lanes when she was struck by an unknown vehicle which was moving from the left lane to the center lane. The Mercury then swerved into guard railing, damaging about 60 feet of rail, state police said. There were no injuries. State police issued Pagan an infraction ticket on a charge of failure to secure a child under age 4 in a safety seat.
Warrant
Police report they served a warrant against Jolynn Low, 38, of 56 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook, on July 26 listing charges of second-degree failure to appear in court and disorderly conduct. The disorderly conduct charge stems from a past incident, police said. Police released Low on a $500 bond for an August 10 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Art Prints
Police report an anonymous person turned over two art prints which the person had found on Alberts Hill Road July 21. The prints appear to have been recently purchased at an antiques shop, police said. Police ask anyone who knows the owner of the prints to contact them at 426-5841.
Collision At The Diner
Police said motorist Donald Cadman, Sr, 69, of Clarkâs Summit, Penn., was driving a 1995 Lincoln Continental westbound on Church Hill Road about 10:30 am July 26 and making a left turn into the Blue Colony Diner parking lot when he collided with eastbound motorist Cheryl Gardner, 52, of Waterbury, who was driving a 1992 Ford Explorer. There were no injuries. Police issued Cadman a written warning for making a restricted turn.
