Phoebe C. Previdi
Phoebe C. Previdi, 89, of Pleasant Street, Danbury, wife of the late Eugene A. Previdi, Sr, died at Danbury Hospital on July 21.
She was born in North Salem, N.Y., November 25, 1910, daughter of the late Daniel and Emma (Stevens) Coughlin. She moved to Danbury as a child and was a graduate of Danbury High School and received her nursing degree from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing in 1929. She later did graduate work in obstetrics at the New York School of Nursing and was an obstetrics nurse at Danbury Hospital until her marriage in 1940. She later performed volunteer nursing for the American Red Cross blood drives.
Mrs Previdi was a member of St Joseph Church and a former member of the Ridgewood Country Club and the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association.
She is survived by a son, Eugene A. Previdi and his wife, H. Joy, and a daughter, Marcia Izzo and her husband, Paul, all of Newtown; two granddaughters, Helen A. Previdi and Melissa J. Previdi; two grandsons, Eugene A. Previdi, III, and Jeffrey W. Previdi; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Cecil J. Previdi, in 1987.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Joseph Church, Danbury, on July 24. Burial took place in St Peter Cemetery.
