Wild About Weeds Program

DERBY — The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s Kellogg Environmental Center will be offering a “Wild About Weeds” program for people all ages on Saturday, July 31, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Participants will meet at Kellogg Environmental Center at 500 Hawthorne Avenue, and will be exploring the grounds of the Kellogg Estate as well as Osbornedale State Park in search of edible weeds.

All those attending will learn how to identify edible weeds in the wild and will learn organic methods to both foster or deter weeds around the house. Dress accordingly for all activities will take place outdoors. The program is free of charge.
