Magic Of Cinderella Coming To Newtown

Over 130 Summer Theatre Connection (STC) students from the greater Danbury region continue to busily rehearse for the July 30 and July 31 production of Cinderella, based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, at Newtown High School.

This is the sixth summer production staged by STC, an inter-district cooperative program funded by Connecticut’s Department of Education and coordinated by staff from Newtown High School and Education Connection.

STC is open to students entering grades 6 through 11; in addition, this year marks the premier of a complementary program for students entering grades 3 through 5.

Tickets are still available for Cinderella. Reserved seating is $15; general admission is $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Performances are July 30 at 7:30 and July 31 at 3 pm.

In addition to Cinderella, STC students are actively involved in a number of theatre workshops. As a special treat, students in the program for grades 3 through 5 will perform a musical variety show on July 28 at 6:30 pm at Newtown High School. Admission is free.
