Look Good, Feel Better

WILTON — The American Cancer Society is hosting a special training session to become a volunteer facilitator for the Look Good, Feel Better program on Tuesday, August 3, from 1:30 pm to 3:30, pm at the American Cancer Society office in Wilton.

Look Good, Feel Better is a free national program to help improve the self-image and self-esteem of women experiencing appearance-related side effects from cancer treatment. Trained volunteer certified cosmetologists are needed to offer hands-on, self-help instruction and education in their areas of expertise — hairstyling and coping with hair loss, skin care, makeup, and nail care — to cancer patients in group sessions, one-on-one salon consultations and through the distribution of self-help materials. If you help women look good and feel better for a living, this is a great and rewarding opportunity to truly help them live better, as well.

State certified cosmetologists interested in becoming volunteers for the Look Good, Feel Better program, call 800-ACS-2345 for further information.
