Garner Inmate Charged With Weapon Possession
State police report that Garner Correctional Institution inmate Paul Coney, 31, was found to be in possession of a dangerous instrument in the high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road on the evening of July 16.
State police charged Coney with possession of a weapon or dangerous instrument in a correctional institution. Coney was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 19 to answer the charge.
In September 2001, Coney was sentenced to 60 years in prison on a murder conviction, according to the state Department of Correction.
