Ernest G. Fenn, Jr

Ernest G. Fenn, Jr, 93, retired plant maintenance supervisor at Fairfield Hills Hospital, Newtown, died July 17 in Hancock Hall, Danbury.

Mr Fenn was born in Bristol on August 17, 1910, a son of the late Ernest G. and Leonora (Herold) Fenn.

He came to Newtown in December of 1931 as one of the first power plant and maintenance employees of the then new Fairfield State Hospital. He retired January 1, 1987 at age 76, after over 55 years of service; 46 years as plant maintenance supervisor.

Ernest was a past master of Hiram #18 Masonic Lodge and a life member of Pyramid Shrine Temple. He was a longtime member of the Newtown Water Pollution Control Authority.

Mr Fenn is survived by a stepson, Thomas S. Anderson, Sr, of Newtown and a nephew. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian F. Fenn in 1966 and by his second wife, Mary K. (Anderson) Fenn in 2001.

Private services and interment were in St Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
