Charles J. Doyle

Charles J. Doyle, 90, the husband of Ann (McHugh) Doyle of Lockwood Lodge, Newtown, died July 18 in Danbury Hospital.

Mr Doyle was born in New York City on June 4, 1914, a son of the late Charles and Alice (Mulligan) Doyle. He was a longtime resident of Westchester County, N.Y., and for over 30 years was a policeman in the Eastchester, N.Y., Police Department, retiring with the rank of lieutenant. Prior to living in Newtown, Mr Doyle resided in Woodbury.

Mr Doyle was an avid reader. He will be cherished by all and remembered for his grace, humor, and wisdom.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Charles J. Doyle, Jr, of Troy, Ohio; two daughters, Elizabeth DeLuca of New Milford and Mary Milo of Bedford, N.Y.; three step-children, Vincent Cremona of Cape Cod, Mass., John Cremona of Boston, Mass., and Patricia Cremona of Phoenix, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren – Janice Gregerick of Bristol, Paul DeLuca of Newtown, Ann Doyle-Pierce of St John, Canada, Charles Doyle of Troy, Ohio, Bob Milo of Pawling, N.Y., and Joseph and Michael Milo, both Phoenix, Ariz. Mr Doyle was predeceased by his first wife, Marie (Brosnan) Doyle.

Funeral services were July 22 from Honan Funeral Home in Newtown, and in St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Private interment was in Mt Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, N.Y.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, July 23, at 10:30 am, at Lockwood Lodge, 139 Toddy Hill Road in Newtown.
