The Newtown Babe Ruth National League concluded its season recently with an All Star contest â pitting the North against the South. And it was the North All Stars who came out on top, slipping by the South, 8-7, in an extra-inning affair.
The North Stars were led by Aadil Ansari, who doubled twice and belted a two-run homer for send the game into extra innings. Ryan Clark, Joel Minalgo, Dan Curtis and Walter Murphy all pounded out hits. Chris Potter, Chris Parker, Luke Dugger, Eric Jurman, Rob Harmony and Sean Ryan all played well in the field. Chris Reid, Sam Paproski and Stephen Poulin shared the pitching duties.
The South Stars were led by the pitching of Travis Hunter, Patrick Daly, Kyle DiNicola and Sean Myslewski. On the offensive side, Andy Kirner collected a pair of hits while Matt Cluff, Croy Carlin, Jeff Peterson and Matt Biscoe each had a hit. John Nelson, Chris Schreiber, Adam Nanavaty, Jonathan Kempf and Jacob Rebb all played well in the field.
