Café Bethel: 'Rules Of The Road'
Café Bethel: âRules Of The Roadâ
BETHEL âRules of the Road by Joan Bauer will be the topic of discussion for the next edition of Café Bethel, a young readersâ book discussion group, on Thursday, August 16. The free program will run from 6:30 to 7:45 pm at Bethel Public Library, 189 Greenwood Avenue.
In Rules of the Road, Jenna Boller works after school in a shoe store. When the 73-year-old president of the company, Mrs Gladstone, visits the store one day she is so impressed by Jenna that she hires her as her chauffeur to drive her from Chicago to Texas.
Ms Bauerâs story concerts the duoâs adventure spying at shoe stores along the way while trying to prevent a takeover of Mrs Gladstoneâs company.
All area students entering grades 6 to 12 are invited. Those needing special accommodations should contact the library as soon as possible to make arrangements. For more information or to register, call Amy Schumann in the libraryâs young readers department at 794-8756 extension 4.
