Thomas F. Jacob, 84, formerly of Newtown, died July 20, in St Augustine, Fla. He was born August 2, 1930, to Margaret (Murphy) and Phillip Jacob in Bridgeport.

On June 30, 1951, he married Joan Stefanik at St Charles Church in Bridgeport.

Mr Jacob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and history.

Survivors include his wife; his four children, Kathy Tredennick of Newtown, Patricia Gibson of Metuchen, N.J., Thomas Jacob, Jr, of St Augustine, and Robert Jacob of Greer, S.C.; five grandchildren, Megan, Shannon, Daniel, Christopher, and Emily; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will take place Friday, July 24, from 5 until 7 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, in Newtown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, July 25, in St Rose of Lima Church Catholic Church, 46 Church Hill Road, in Newtown.
