Police Probe Two Residential Burglary/Larceny Incidents

Police are investigating two residential burglaries that occurred on July 13 in which both incidents involved forced entry into the premises for the purpose of theft.

Detective Sergeant Darlene Froehlich said this week that it is unclear whether the two burglaries were committed by the same person or persons, noting that the police probes into the crimes are in the early stages.

Police received a call about 3:30 pm on July 13 reporting that a burglary had occurred at a home on Boggs Hill Road, near its intersection with Deep Brook Road.

Det Sgt Froehlich said that the burglar or burglars entered the house through a window that was forced open. No one was at home when the incident occurred.

A laptop-style computer and multiple pieces of jewelry were stolen in the incident, police said. The value of the items taken was not available.

In a second burglary that occurred on July 13, sometime between 7:30 and 11:30 pm, someone forced open the rear door of a house on Philo Curtis Road. The incident occurred at a residence on the section of Philo Curtis Road lying between its intersection with Riverside Road and the entrance to Treadwell Park.

In that incident, the burglar or burglars stole a laptop computer, some watches, and cash, police said. The loss is estimated at $2,000.

That burglary was reported to police about 6 am on July 14.

Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the incidents to contact them at 203-426-5841.
