Man Charged With Assault
In Family Violence Case
After learning that police held a court warrant for his arrest, Kirk Andersen, 28, of Capitol Drive went to the police station about 8 am on July 13 and was charged with second-degree assault and with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, police said. The three charges are felonies.
Police said the arrest stems from a family violence investigation of incidents that allegedly occurred on March 9 and March 30.
The victim was an infant, born last December, according to court documents.
Police released Andersen on $100 bail for a July 14 court appearance. Andersen did not enter pleas at his arraignment. He is scheduled to return to court on July 28.
