Civic Vs Corvette

At about 6:04 pm on July 18, a two-car accident occurred near 153 South Main Street, police report.

Southbound motorist Karen Zantay, 47, of Ridgefield, who was driving a 2006 Honda Civic sedan, signaled to make a left turn, so southbound motorist Christopher Tatalias, 48, of Huntington, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette, attempted to pass the Civic on the right, according to police.

The Civic then suddenly turned to the right, striking the Corvette, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Zantay for making a restricted turn.

Two-Car Collision

Police report a two-car accident near 46 Church Hill Road about 9 pm on July 17. Motorist Robert Murdy, 31, of Woodbury, who was driving a two-door 1989 Ford Escort eastward on Church Hill Road, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Ford was struck from behind by an eastbound 1995 Subaru Legacy station wagon driven by Susana Monteiro, 24, of Danbury, said police, who issued an infraction to Monteiro for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
