Cherish Lynn Valente and Jerry Dachenhausen Jr were married on May 13 by the pastor Alan Lounsbury during a ceremony at The Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield. A reception followed, at the same location.

The bride is a daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles T. Valente of Sandy Hook, and was given into marriage by her father.

The groom is a son of Mr and Mrs Jerry Dachenhausen, Sr, of Newtown.

For her wedding day, Cherish selected a Maggie Sottero gown, which she found at Lucille’s Bridal in Orange. Her flowers, and those of her attendants, were arranged by Whisconier Florist of Brookfield.

Sabrina Valente, sister of the bride, of Manchester, N.H., was Cherish’s maid of honor. Melanie Gillis of North Kingstown, R.I., Tara Pratt of Danbury, and Karen Bailey of Newtown were the bridesmaids. All wore black vintage inspired dresses by Impression Bridal from Great White Way Bridal of  Watertown.

Travis Dachenhausen of Newtown, the groom’s brother, was best man. Ushers were Luke Badaracco of New Milford, John Knapp of Danbury, Justin Dahlmeyer of Chesapeake, Va., and Matthew Dobson of Sandy Hook.

Cherish is a graduate of Newtown High School and also of Western Connecticut State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She is a book keeper for Tradewind Aviation LLC.

Jerry is also a graduate of Newtown High School. He is employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Newtown.

Following a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the Dachenhausens have returned to their home in Oxford.
