NFA Planning Third Annual Sunset Wine Tasting; Volunteers Needed
Watch the late day sky wash the horizon in rosés and cabernets at Holcombe Hill Preserve, 65 Great Hill Road, during the third annual Sunset Wine Tasting, Saturday, September 10. The event is being hosted by and will serve as a fundraiser for Newtown Forest Association (NFA).newtownforestassociation.org to find a link to buy tickets.sbsmithjr13@gmail.com.rtedesign@gmail.com.
Tickets are $45 per person and go on sale, online only, starting August 1. Tickets sell quickly, said NFA Vice President Bart Smith, "So do not delay." Tickets are being limited to 300, and will not be sold over the phone or at the door, he said. The evening is rain or shine, and will run from 4 to 8 pm.
The evening will offer a silent auction, including artwork from Josephine Holcombe's estate, beer and wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres, music, "and hopefully a beautiful sunset," Mr Smith said.
Guests will be part of NFA's ongoing celebration of the association's 92 years of preserving open space in Newtown. The celebration will once again offer views from the highest elevation in town.
