Winner Of A Dream Vacation

Mike Phenix of Sandy Hook, left, was the winner of the Blue & Gold Booster Club’s raffle of a dream vacation and he is presented with his prize by B&G president Dan Barrett. Mr Phenix now has a year to choose his trip – either a trip to renowned sports event or a trip of his own creation. The B&G wishes to thank many of the business in town who supported the raffle and the Newtown High School football team for its efforts in selling tickets. The next task at hand for the B&G is its annual golf tournament on Monday, September 18, at Richter Park. It will be a 10 am shotgun start, best-ball tournament. All players will receive a continental breakfast, lunch at the turn, and buffet dinner at Restaurant on the Green. There will be prizes for first and second place, longest drive, closest to the pin, and a $10,000 hole-in-one prize. Cost is $175 per player; individuals and foursomes welcome.
