‘Sweeney Todd’ To Be Shown

SOUTHBURY — Southbury Senior Center’s Afternoon At The Opera series will feature a showing of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd on Wednesday, July 26, at 1 pm, at Pomperaug Woods, 80 Heritage Road.

The version of Sonheim’s musical masterpiece to be shown is a videotape of the 1985 live television performance, starring Angela Lansbury, who recreated her Tony Award-winning performance in the original 1979 Broadway production. She is co-starred with George Hearn, who plays the title role of Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
