Wit And Intelligence Will Be Missed By All
Raymond F. Kase, Jr, 79, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of Marianne (Collins) Kase, died July 18 at his home. Born October 3, 1926, in Carbondale, Penn., son of Catherine (Kenney) and Raymond F. Kase, Sr, he lived in Trumbull and St Louis, Mo., before moving to Bloomfield six years ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four sons, Thomas C. Kase and his wife, Andrea, of Newtown, Raymond F. Kase III and his wife, Katharine, of Jamison, Penn., Christopher Kase and his wife, Olga, of Madrid, Spain, and J. Kenney Kase of St Louis; three brothers, William R. Kase and his wife, Edna, of Reading, Penn., Thomas G. Kase of Forest City, Penn., and James K. Kase of Jermyn, Penn.; a sister, Alberta Madden of Carbondale, Penn.; six grandchildren, Sean, Meghan, James, and Colin of Jamison, Penn., and Margaret and William of Newtown; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Joseph L. Kase; and a sister, Jean Marie Kase, predeceased him.
Mr Kase served with the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater in the Philippines. He graduated with a bachelorâs degree in economics from the University of Scranton, Penn. From 1957 to 1978 he was employed by Olin Corp based out of New York, and later moved to Stamford. From 1978 to 1991, he was employed by ACF Industries, Inc out of New York and then moved to St Louis, where he retired. During his career, he served as president of the Council on Employee Benefits and for many years he served on the Council Board of Trustees.
Mr Kase was an avid reader and a fan of baseball, football, and Notre Dame. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was admired for his intelligence and tremendous wit.
Family and friends may gather Friday, July 21, from 9 to 10 am, in Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am, in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Trumbull. His family was scheduled to receive friends Thursday, July 20, from 4 to 7 pm, in Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield.
