Rotary’s Annual Picnic

The only ones who did not enjoy Newtown Rotary’s Lobster picnic were the many two-pound lobsters that were the center of attraction. The Rotary Club of Newtown held its annual event this year on July 17 at Treadwell Park.

Club members, their spouses, and friends look forward to the event. After Monday’s dinner, quite a few attendees carried some leftovers home for their enjoyment the next day.

The Rotary Club has been displaying the latest Harley-Davidson motorcycle that will be raffled off after the Labor Day Parade on September 4. Harley-Davidson of Danbury has provided a Road King Classic Model FLHRCI and a Kendon motorcycle trailer for this, The Fourth Annual Harley-Davidson Raffle.

There are only 500 tickets being raffled off so the odds are attractive, say Rotary members. Tickets are $100 each. Rotary members will have tickets for the remainder of the summer, or anyone who wishes to purchase a ticket can Bill Calderara at 426-4557.
