Gordon J. Slotsky, 72, husband of Alice L. (Weisfeld) Slotsky of Sandy Hook, died unexpectedly on July 11 at Danbury Hospital.

Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Mr Slotsky was educated at Iowa State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in statistics. He completed a master’s degree in mathematical statistics at The Courant Institute at New York University.

Gordon served as a captain in the US Army Ordnance Corps in Stuttgart, Germany, and went on to a distinguished career as a mathematical statistician in the aerospace industry.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements were handled by Honan Funeral Home in Newtown.
