A Midsummer’s Chamber Gathering At The Lake

The Newtown Chamber of Commerce celebrated with new members and old July 13, at member Jane Sharpe’s lakeside home. She and her husband Don Sharpe hosted the cocktail party that saw a full house of community business people enjoying the views across Lake Zoar. The evening invited chamber members and those looking to join the chamber for a few hours of conversation. This event is normally part of the holiday party held in December; however, chamber President Pat Linnell hoped to celebrate the growth and chamber support in a unique way.

Ms Sharpe also enjoyed the change of season for a get-together.

“It’s relaxing and it’s nice to feel welcome,” she said.

Ms Sharpe toured her home’s gardens and lakefront views with guests including Lani Lee, a clothing designer and owner of Lani Lee Couture. Ms Lee is also a chamber member.

The chamber supports business opportunities on behalf of members through marketing, networking programs, community-sponsored events, and involvement with local economic development.
