Lillian “Sis” Morris, 92, of Newtown died peacefully July 18, surrounded by her family. Born October 31, 1922, to Lillian and John Wrabel in Bridgeport, she grew up in Fairfield and graduated from St Thomas Elementary and Roger Ludlow High School before working for the Dictaphone Company, Covair Aircraft, and eventually advancing to become vice president of Reliable Plating and Polishing Company.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Sis gave freely of her time to her church, community, and peers, serving in the St James Church Lady’s Guild (president), Bridgeport’s Polka Dot Playhouse (treasurer), and on the Board of Managers of the American Electro-Plater’s Society.

In retirement, she devoted herself to helping her daughter Barbara Lee Morris launch several businesses.

Her son, Col (Ret) Robert C. Morris, Jr, and his wife Kim; grandchildren Katie Morris and Robert J. Morris of Yorktown, Va.; and a sister, Marie Peck of Fairfield, survive Mrs Morris. Her devoted husband, Robert C. Morris, Sr, and her daughter, Barbara Lee Morris, predeceased her.

The family especially wishes to thank the Jewish Home in Fairfield for Mrs Morris’s great care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday, July 24, at 10 am, at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, followed by entombment in the family mausoleum at St Rose Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers the family requests support for veterans and those in need by donating online at www.helpingtheheroes.com, or by texting the keyword “Heroes” to 91999 then choosing a donation amount.

Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
