The Final Dramas Of The War Of 1812

BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Historical Society, as part of their American Military Forum, will host a multimedia presentation on the War of 1812. It will take place on Monday, August 6, at 7:30 pm, at The Brookfield Museum.

The speaker will be local attorney and former probate judge Joseph Secola, pictured, who is also a member of the society’s board of directors. Mr Secola’s program will focus on the last two major engagements of the war: The Battle of Plattsburgh or Lake Champlain in the north and The Battle of New Orleans in the south. Each has a unique place in history; one resulting in the denial of territorial claims against the United States by the British and the other giving rise to a future presidency.

Following the program complimentary refreshments will be served.

Brookfield Museum is at 165 Whisconier Road, the intersection of Routes 25 and 133. For more information call 203-740-8140 or visit www.brookfieldcthistory.org.
