Karla & Scott Sypek

Karla Marie Spencer and Scott Joseph Sypek were married on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Newtown Congregational Church. The Reverend Matt Crebbin, senior pastor of NCC, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Andy and Darlene Spencer of Newtown. She was given into marriage by her parents.

Scott is the son of Lance and Renee Sypek of Middletown.

Kelly Owsianko of Bristol, the bride’s best friend and college roommate, was Karla’s maid of honor.

Melissa Pellerin of Middletown, who first introduced Karla and Scott, was the bridesmaid.

Adam Uhde, the bride’s cousin, was ring bearer.

Kristofer Sypek of Middletown, the groom’s brother, was the best man. The bride’s brother, Jeffrey Spencer, served as the groomsman.

Following the marriage ceremony, the couple enjoyed a special ride from the church to their reception at The Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield, in a 1957 Chevy Bel Air. The vehicle had previously been owned and restored by the groom and his stepfather Alan, who died in 2007.

The bride had been able to locate and contact the current owner of the car, who agreed to drive the newlyweds from the church to the reception as a surprise gift and special memory for Scott.

During the reception, among the music that was played by DJ Kevin Koschel, Karla enjoyed when he played “Stardust” most of all. A longtime student of Lathrop School of Dance, it seemed as though the late Ginny Lathrop was shining down on the bride and groom with her signature song being played.

The Sypeks enjoyed a relaxing honeymoon in Ocean City, Md. They live in Middletown.

Karla is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University. She is a preschool teacher at The Learning Experience in Cromwell.

Scott is an auto parts professional at NAPA Auto Parts in South Windsor.
