Jennifer & Chris McEwen

Former Newtown resident Jennifer Dwyer married Chris McEwen on April 28, 2012, at Longboat Key Club & Resort in Longboat Key, Fla. The ceremony was officiated by Linck Slich. Jennifer and Chris were married on the beach, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Following the beach ceremony a reception followed at Longboat Key Club Island House.

Jennifer is a daughter of Nea and Michael Dwyer of Sarasota, Fla. She was given into marriage by her father.

For her wedding day, she wore a silk taffeta gown and carried a bouquet of blue, green and white orchids.

Maid of honor was Robin Dwyer of Atlanta, Ga., and Lauren Cochell of Woodstock, Ga., was the bridesmaid. Both wore gray and teal silk dress and carried bouquets of orchids.

J. Alex McEwen of Montgomery, the groom’s nephew, was the couple’s usher, and Carter Cochell, the bride’s nephew, was “petal pitcher.”

Chris is the son of Mr and Mrs James E. McEwen of Montgomery, Ala.

His best man was James A. McEwen of Montgomery.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a configuration analyst for Meditech, Inc.

Jennifer graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (bachelor of arts in music) and the University of New Orleans, where she earned a masters of arts. She is managing director of True Colors Theatre Company.

Following a honeymoon in Italy, the McEwens have returned to their home in Atlanta.
