Ferrigno

Dorothy S. Ferrigno, 82, of Fairfield, died peacefully July 16.

She received her teaching degree in physical education from the University of Connecticut, and taught in several public schools in Bridgeport. She was a retired Executive Senior Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Her strong, genuine belief in helping women obtain their personal best had much to do with her success.

A member of Black Rock Yacht Club for 43 years, she enjoyed spending time there with her family and friends. She was an exceptional tennis player, and relished competing with fellow members. Her warm, vivacious personality endeared her to all those she came to know throughout life. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and the people she touched.

She was the devoted, loving mother to Rockman Ferrigno, MD, and his wife, Abbi, of Newtown and Anthony R. Ferrigno II and his wife, Eileen, of Stratford. In addition to her sons and daughters-in-law, her memory will be embraced by her three cherished grandchildren; her sister, Beatrice Wexler, and her husband, Walter; a sister-in-law, Linda Levinson; two nieces; and her former husband and friend, Anthony Ferrigno of Newtown. She was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Ida Sondak Levinson; her brother, Robert; and a niece.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, July 19, from 3 to 7 pm, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. All other services will be private.
