Turrents Open At Military Museum

DANBURY — Occasionally, members of Military Museum of Southern New England make an exception to the rule that bans visitors from climbing inside the vehicles of the museum’s collection.

On Saturday, July 28, the museum will host its next Open Turret Day. From 10 am to 5 pm (or the following day from noon to 5 pm if there is rain on Saturday), the public is invited to climb inside authentic tanks and other military vehicles at 125 Park Avenue. All ages are welcome; rubber-soled shoes are required for anyone planning on entering any of the vehicles.

The museum’s galleries and gift shop will also be open.

Museum admission is $4 for adults, $2 for ages 6-18, $2 for senior citizens, and free for visitors under age 5. Call 790-9277 for additional information.
