Republican Board of Education member Donald Ramsey has submitted a letter of resignation from the Board of Education dated July 19.

Ramsey said his decision, "after two and a half years of volunteer service, comes at a time after careful consideration."

Ramsey was elected in the 2021 election. His seat was next up for election in 2025.

In his resignation letter, Ramsey said it was "a great honor to be elected by voters and to serve to the best of my ability" on the BOE.

"I also want to recognize all the wonderful staff (especially front line teachers, coaches, and paraprofessionals) who inspire kids to be their best across all grade levels and subject areas," stated Ramsey. "It is not hyperbolic to say that curiosity and positive relationships in every classroom impacts generations to come in every corner of the world."

Don is a great example of what a BOE member stands for, open minded and positive. Hopefully the nes member will stay around for a while, most haven’t completed their terms.
