Connecticut Gas Prices Drop 15 Cents In A Month
HARTFORD (AP) â Gasoline prices in Connecticut have dropped 15 cents in the past month, according to a survey released July 17 by AAA Connecticut Motor Club.
The survey of about 1,000 gas stations across Connecticut found the average price of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.68 per gallon. That compares to $1.83 per gallon a month ago.
Connecticut still has the highest unleaded regular gas prices in the Northeast. New York is second at $1.65, followed by Rhode Island at a $1.61. The lowest prices in the region can be found in Maine, where the price of regular unleaded is $1.38 on average.
Gas prices have declined 30 cents on average nationally since their high in mid-May, according to the US Department of Energy. The national average is $1.43 per gallon.
