Irish Music Is Returning To Meeting House
On Friday, July 25, at 8 pm, Newtown Meeting House will be host to a marvelous evening of traditional Irish music featuring John Carty on fiddle and banjo and John Blake on guitar.
Internationally acclaimed John Carty is one of the greatest multi-instrumental virtuosos in Irish music today, having won numerous All-Ireland Championships. His three previous solo CDs have received rave reviews, heralding his brand new release At It Again. He is also founder of the much-loved group At The Racket.
John Blake is the most sought-after young accompanist today, most recently named runner-up âMusician of the Yearâ by the Irish Echo.
The concert is being hosted by Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting Irish traditional music, and is sponsored in part by a grant from The Wild Geese and with support from Connecticut Commission on the Arts.
