Fall Baseball

Registrations for Newtown Babe Ruth fall ball will close on Thursday, July 31. All players, ages 6 through 19, are eligible to play. League age and division placement are determined by a player’s age as of July 31, 2003. Documentation for DOB must be provided (original raised seal document and a copy for league records). Players from last spring, who have previously provided this documentation are exempt. A packet with registration form and additional information is being mailed to families of players from this past spring. Additionally, forms will be available at the Park & Rec office, the Booth Library and Olympia Sports. The non-refundable player registration fee is $65. WCSU Basketball Camp

The women’s basketball program at Western Connecticut State University will be sponsoring its 2003 Girls’ Basketball Hoop Camp July 28 through August 1, 9 am to 3:30 pm each day. Youth Summer Track

The Bethel Youth Summer Track Series will be held on Wednesdays this month – 23, and 30 – at Bethel High School for all athletes up to grade eight. There will be a 50-, 100-, 200-, 400- and 800-meter race plus one open race (1,600 meters on the 23rd and 3,200 meters on the 30th) each week for any age. Also included will be one field event clinic each week – javelin, high jump or shot put. Entry fee is $2 and ribbons will be presented to all finishers.
