Alice Louise Durkin

Alice Louise Durkin, 85, of 8-B Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died July 12 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph Durkin.

Mrs Durkin was born July 19, 1917, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Ernest and Lena (Platt) Morris. She retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford and had previously worked at Underwood Typewriter in Bridgeport. She was an active member of the Newtown United Methodist Church.

She leaves her niece, Ruthann G. Kowalski of Shelton and nephew, Ernest Schroder of Coconut Creek, Fla. She is predeceased by her sister, Jeannette Schroder.

A funeral service was held July 16 at Newtown United Methodist Church, Church Hill Road, Newtown. Burial was private.
