Picture A Children's Workshop, At Aldrich Museum
Picture A Childrenâs Workshop, At Aldrich Museum
RIDGEFIELD â What is a story without pictures? Every child loves story time and for the âwee ones,â sometimes the pictures are the story. Aldrich Museum educator Melanie Zalman invites young children to the museum Friday, August 4, 10 am to noon. Children will transform the museumâs sculpture garden into a veritable storybook factory, where they will have the opportunity to become the illustrators of their very own books.
An illustrated story will be read to the children, who will discuss how the images help to make the story come to life. Participants will explore what happens when a story has no pictures as they become illustrators in their own right.
Each child will create his or her very own picture book to âreadâ with parents at bedtime. Parents of the young artists are invited to attend.
Reservations are required, and cost is $12 per person. Call the museum at 203/438-4519. The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art s at 258 Main Street (Route 35).
