Family: Mom, dad, sister, brother.

Pets: I have Sperry, a Golden Retriever; Lagertha, a Great Dane; and Rocko, an English Pointer. Lagertha used to be a show dog. Her name comes from The Vikings, and it means “Your Gracious Queen.”

How long have you lived in Newtown? 16 years.

Where do you work? Mt Pleasant Hospital for Animals. I’m the assistant manager there, and run their front office. This job found me, and it’s great. I went to school for fire science, but during COVID everything shut down, including my work there, so my job in that field was not guaranteed. Dr Vali had his opening, and offered me what was going to be a temporary position. That was four-plus years ago and I just love it. I got promoted two years ago to assistant manager and I love what I do, working with the animals and people. It’s not the easiest job, but I do it because I genuinely love what I do. It’s always been a passion of mine to work with animals.

I also work part-time for my mom, who is the director of The Children’s Adventure Center. I try to give her as much time as I can every week.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to spend time with my boyfriend and our dogs. I also love family time.

Who or what has been the biggest influence in your life? My mom. She’s the most caring, loving person in my life. She reaches out to every single person, and she puts their needs in front of hers. I’ve tried to follow that, but she just does so much for everyone. I don’t think she gets enough appreciation for that. She’s perfect for the field she’s in. She takes care of so many children and their families.

If you could spend the day with one person, living or deceased, who would you choose and why? My best friend Emily. She doesn’t live here anymore, and she’s the one person that gets me.

What is the most recent movie you saw in the theater? Anyone But You

Favorite actor? Probably Will Ferrell. He’s hilarious. Any movie he’s in, I’ll watch.

Favorite movie genre? Comedy. Everyone can get a piece of a comedy.

Do you have any pet peeves? People not respecting common social cues — not understanding when it’s right or wrong to say something.

Favorite color? Light pink

What is something you cannot live without? My dog.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I have not been yet, but I would love to get to Greece. I love Florida though.

What is your favorite part about Newtown? The community. I love how everyone knows everyone — which I know can be a bad thing, but it’s nice to have that. I didn’t have that where I lived before. Living here, I’ve been able to make close friends, and keep those friends. If I didn’t have this community, I wouldn’t be able to keep these people in my life.

What would you like to see covered in The Newtown Bee? You do a good job covering every aspect of things, but I would like to see fire and ambulance call logs again. Recognition for the departments in town would be great.
