Brushy Hill

Brushy Hill Farm will host horse shows Sundays July 26 and August 23.

Shows include classes in Micro, Walk Trot, Short Stirrup, Leadline, Beginner Hunter, Long Stirrup, Schooling Hunter, Child/Adult Equitation, Child/Adult Hunter, Walk Trot Pleasure and Open Pleasure.

Entry fee is $18 per class. Advanced entries are appreciated and encouraged, as post entries will be charged $10 per horse/rider combination. Entries may be made by phone at 203-262-6466, faxed to 203-267-7085 or mailed to 15 Coachmans Drive, Southbury, CT 06488.

CGA Show Dates

The Connecticut Gymkhana Association announces horse show dates as follows:

July 25 – Pleasure/ Gymkhana, Hillside Equestrian, Wolcott (12 pm)

August 8 – Gymkhana, Pond View Farm, Bethlehem, (3 pm)

August 23 – Benefit Show, Pleasure/Gymkhana, Bethany Airport, Bethany (8 am)

September 20 – Gymkhana, Hillside Equestrian, Wolcott (9 am)

October 4 – Play Day (Pot Luck), Bethany Airport, Bethany (9 am)

Lion Hill

Easton's Lion Hill Farm's 2009 Horse Show Series dates are as follows (Sundays beginning at 8 am): September 13, October 4 and November 8.

All riders must have a Riding Helmet with harness (ASTM approved). Riders must wear long pants and hard sole shoes or boots with a half-inch heel (no sneakers) and a shirt that tucks in.

Entry fee per class is $18. Competitors are encouraged to register by mail or phone (1020 Sport Hill Road, Easton, 06612; phone: 268-0089).
