Planning Sandy Hook’s Streetscape

The Sandy Hook Center Streetscape Committee has scheduled an organizational meeting for Thursday, July 26, at 9:30 am, at the town land use conference room in Canaan House at Fairfield Hills.

Sandy Hook Center property owners, residents, merchants and the general public are invited to attend.

The committee is organizing a project to physically improve Sandy Hook Center with the installation of new sidewalks, curbing, street lighting and landscaping. The group plans to seek a federal grant for the improvement work.

Community Development Director Elizabeth Stocker said committee members will be discussing the scope of the beautification project, the building materials to be used in sidewalk construction, and street lighting, among other topics.
