RIVERHEAD, N.Y. â The Suffolk County Historical Society announces the next program in its Summer Speaker Series on Saturday, July 28, 2001. The third of a summer-long series of speakers will be Joseph Gergela, executive director of the Long Island Farm Bureau. He will make a presentation on local farmstands and the role of agri-business in Long Islandâs economy. His presentation will take place at the Suffolk County Historical Society, located at 300 West Main St., Riverhead, at 1 pm. Admission will be free. Call 631-727-2881 for information.
Up coming speakers will be the president of the North Fork Antique Dealers Association, Mr Jeff Korbin and several other antique shop owners who will speak about the numerous antique shops on the North Fork of Long Island and what each shop specializes in. They will bring a sample of what treasures can be found in their shops. More programs are to be announced. All presentations will begin a 1 pm and are free.
The public is invited to this new program series and welcome to tour the exhibit galleries and visit the Weathervane gift shop at the Suffolk County Historical Society. The S.C.H.S. is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30 pm. Admission is free.
