LIVE OAK, TEX. â American glassware identification and appraisal, seminars and 40 major dealers from all sections of the country are on line for the semi-annual roundup of American glass, china and pottery September 22 and 23 at the Live Oak Civic Center.
Debbie and Randy Coe, authors of the recently released price guide entitled, Elegant Glass will be the guest authors. In addition to selling and autographing their new book, they will bring their large inventory of show glass. Mary Walker, author of the book And Many More Reamers, and husband Ed join this fallâs roundup from California. The Walkers will offer for sale many rare and unusual American reamers and have access to rare, foreign, glass and china reamers. Mary will sell and autograph her book.
Reyne Haines, a frequent art glass appraiser on the Antiques Road Show, and Rosemary Trietsch, a glass identification columnist for Antique Week, will conduct seminars on consolidated glassware and the Internet. They operate the Internet website Just Glass which can be accessed at www.justglass.com.
Fall 2001 will see Victorian Pattern Glass added to the show. Lee Briggeman, is one of the largest pattern glass dealers in the country and will join the show for the first time. Dot Downey of Big Springs, Tex., will bring her supply of pink Manhattan. Linda and David Adams of Las Vegas, Nev., will add their Fostoria. Helen and Bob Jones of Manassas Va., will bring kitchenware. Harold Hughes of Little Rock, Ark., will bring 1950s and 1960s glassware.
Bob Bartholomew of Decatur, Ga., will be another first time exhibitor who specializes in Heisey. Neila and Tom Bredehoft will return with Heisey and the new book on Heisey.
American Glassware Identification and Appraisal will return in this September. The money raised will be used to purchase glass for the National Depression Glass Associationâs National Glass Collection.
