The Society of the Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) is holding another one-day Summer Art Workshop, this one in Watercolor Basics for Beginners with Katherine Adams, Saturday, July 20, from 10 am to 4 pm, in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.

For those who have ever wanted to try watercolor painting but hesitated to invest in supplies before knowing whether they would even enjoy it, SCAN has the answer. The class fee of $80 ($60 for SCAN members) includes all supplies, including a variety of paints, different types of brushes, and evnt a range of papers.

Katherine Adams is an enthusiastic and accomplished watercolorist whose work has been in numerous juried exhibits and who loves to share the excitement of putting watercolor paint to paper.

Reservations are requested, and can be done by sending a check to SCAN, PO Box 41, Newtown CT 06470, with an indication that the check is for Watercolor Basics.
