Cheerleader Tag Sale
The Newtown High School cheerleaders will be holding a tag sale on Saturday, July 17, from 9 am to 3 pm, at the Newtown Middle School. The cheerleaders are beginning a massive fundraising campaign in order to finance a trip to Orlando, Florida, next year to participate in a national competition.

Lacrosse Summer League
Starting on Tuesday, July 13, anyone with lacrosse experience is welcome to participate in a Lacrosse Summer League. Games will be played at Newtown Middle School from 5:30 to 6:45 pm (for those in grades 7 and 8) and from 6:45 until dusk for those in high school and college. A $20 fee will cover referees. Premier Soccer Tryouts
AC Caldo of Middlebury will be holding tryouts for its fall 2004 programs on Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26, at Meadowview Park in Middlebury. For further information and to pre-register, visit www.accaldo.com.
Summer Baseball Camp
The New England Baseball Academy (NEBA) and Oxford Parks and Recreation Department will hold the 2004 Summer Baseball Camp on Monday, July 26, at Great Oak Middle School in Oxford. Players ages 7 through 13 are eligible. Players will receive instruction in hitting, pitching/throwing, fielding, and base running and games will be played daily. Nike Baseball Camp
Teikyo Post University will run a week long Nike Summer Baseball Camp for ages 13 to 18 from July 19 to 22 at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury. Camp will run from 9 am to 3 pm. Mornings will focus on the development of defensive and offensive skills, while games will take place in the afternoons. The program will include individual and team instruction, individual and team coaching by age group, one coach for every 10 campers, and on-site trainer and interaction with college coaches and student-athletes. Instructors for the summer baseball camp are Wayne Mazzoni, head baseball coach at Teikyo Post University, along with local high school coaches and TPU baseball players.
