An Evening Of W.C. Fields Comedies

NEW MILFORD — Film historian and restorer Gerald Haber will be the next guest performer at Merryall Center for the Arts, on Chapel Hill Road.

On Saturday, July 17, Mr Haber will present “An Evening with W.C. Fields,” featuring two of Fields’ greatest comedies.

 It’s A Gift (1934), considered Fields’ finest comedy feature, has Fields as a bumbling proprietor of a small-town general store.

 The second film, 1932’s The Dentist, has the comic as a dentist who needs to be seen to be believed, “especially when he tends to the dental requirements of two feminine patients.”
