Hospital Plans Events For Village Fair Days

NEW MILFORD –– New Milford Hospital has planned a variety of activities and events for the New Milford Village Fair Days this year.

 Free blood pressure screenings will be held on Friday, July 26, from 11 am to 8 pm. On Saturday, July 27, the screening will be available between 1 pm and 10 pm. There is no need to preregister.

 In addition, health professionals and information will be available on a number of health-related topics such as diabetes, cardiac care, stroke, breast cancer education, diabetes, skin cancer, and Lyme disease. Hands-on demonstrations will include lymphedema treatment, massage therapy and the “ask me about my beads” program. Screening for body fat measurement will be available between 11 am and 2 pm on a first-come, first-served basis. A skin-damage viewer from the American Cancer Society will be onsite as well. A complete schedule of events will be available to fairgoers in the official fair booklet.

On Saturday morning, Emergency Department personnel will staff a MASH tent providing medical assistance to runners during the Annual Road Race. Also on Saturday morning, at the Hospital’s Regional Cancer Center, dermatologists from Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut will provide a free skin cancer screening. This screening is by preregistration only.
